Fake iBazzar groups and “paid task” scams

People are using the iBazzar name, logo and product links to run a paid-task scam. This page explains how it works, what we will never ask you to do, and which channels are genuinely ours.

Last updated: 2026-08-22

How the scam works

  1. 1

You are added to a group

You are added to a group on Telegram or another messaging app without asking. It uses the iBazzar name and logo, and the admins present themselves as iBazzar staff, often with photos that are AI-generated or taken from other companies.

  2. 2

You are paid a small amount for an easy task

You are asked to open a product, like it, add it to your wishlist or leave a comment, then send a screenshot. A small payment, typically around 3,000 IQD, arrives quickly. This step exists only to make everything after it look real.

  3. 3

The tasks start costing you money

Next come “prepaid” or “recharge” tasks: you are told to deposit your own money to unlock a larger commission. The dashboard they show you displays a growing balance, but that balance is not real.

  4. 4

    The money cannot be withdrawn

When you try to withdraw, you are told to pay a fee, a tax, or a charge to “unfreeze” the account. Each payment leads to another. Customers have lost very large sums this way.

Scammers often share genuine links to products on our site. A real product link does not make the group, the account, or the offer real.

What iBazzar will never do

  • We never pay you for liking, favouriting, or commenting on products.
  • We never ask you to deposit, transfer, or top up money for any task, commission, or investment.
  • We have no wallet, investment plan, or earnings programme of any kind. iBazzar is a marketplace: you buy and sell here, you do not invest here.
  • We have no representatives, task managers, or support staff on Telegram or WhatsApp.
  • We never ask for your bank details, card numbers, or verification codes (OTP).

Warning signs

  • You were added to a group you never joined.
  • You are promised easy money for a few taps.
  • You are asked to pay first in order to earn later.
  • You are pushed to hurry, or told the offer expires in minutes.
  • The website address looks close to ours, but is not exactly ibazzar.com or ibazzar.net.
  • Payment is requested to a personal wallet or transfer office instead of through our checkout.

Anything outside this list is not iBazzar, even if it uses our name, our logo, or links to our products.

If you have already paid

  1. 1Stop sending money immediately. Any request for a further fee to release your funds is part of the same scam.
  2. 2Report it to the police or the cybercrime unit, and keep every screenshot, account number, and transfer receipt.
  3. 3Contact the wallet or transfer office you paid through and give them the receiving account numbers so they can act.
  4. 4Leave the group, block the accounts, and report them inside the app you were contacted on.

iBazzar has not received any of this money and cannot refund it. The transfers go to third parties impersonating us. We are aware of these accounts and are pursuing legal action against them.

Not sure about something?

If you are unsure whether an offer, a link, or an account is really from us, contact us before you do anything. We would far rather answer a question than see a customer lose money.
