The boom tripod is also very useful when filming, as you often want a free work surface in front of the subject where the filmmaker should be able to move freely without the risk of tripping over the tripod legs. The boom stand also makes it possible to get the lighting up high, so that you avoid the lighting ending up at eye level. (Placing the lighting high and using a softbox are two good ways to avoid glare and unpleasant light for the people in front of the camera.)
Unlike regular lighting stands, you can angle the top part of the stand to use it as a telescopic boom arm for lighter studio equipment such as the Godox ML-60 or similar lights and flashes. This makes the boom stand more universal than a standard lighting stand and a perfect aid in the studio. The boom has a standard flash mount (16mm) with both 3/8" and 1/4" camera thread (reversible spigot). The counterweight is a sandbag (sand is not included). Both the frame and the integrated boom are made of aluminium.
