I don't know in what world it makes sense to use the shades independently--the audacity to even give them separate names even!!--because the only way to do that would be to use very small eyeshadow brushes! It had a very smooth, almost cream-like texture, was the powder was denser but airy once I started to work with it. The powder applied well to bare skin, blended out with little effort, and diffused beautifully for a luminous glow.
